Church Wedding
Paphos has two truly beautiful churches, both steeped in ancient history.
In both you can feel the hopes, dreams and love of many of the previous couples who have pledged their love to each other over the centuries...
Ayia Kyriaki
Ayia Kyriaki was built around 1500 AD as a Latin Church on the site of an Early Christian Basilica which was destroyed in 59 AD by an earthquake.

About 100 years after its construction and following the Turkish invasion of 1570, it became the Byzantine Cathedral of Kato (Lower) Paphos.
St. Paul and St. Barnabas's first missionary journey was to Cyprus in around 45 AD. During their visit (which we're sure included a trip down Bar Street!) they met and converted the Roman Proconsul, Sergius Paulus to Christianity (Acts 13 verses 4-12).
Proconsul Sergius apparently became the first Christian ruler and Cyprus the first Christian country.
Tradition has it that St. Paul was scourged in Paphos at the pillar near this church.
This church is often known as “The Church by St. Paul’s Pillar”.
Ayia Kyriaki offers marriage ceremonies to both Anglican and Catholic denominations.
Access to the church is over a wooden bridge, giving excellent accessibility to wheelchair guests.
Once inside you'll find Ayia Kyriaki cool and spacious - with seating for up to 100 guests.
The church is laid out in such a way that even if there's just a few of you, it'll still feel intimate for your vows to each other.
Photographers are welcomed, so you'll be able to get pictures for your wedding album of every special moment of the service to treasure.
Even throwing confetti is okay, providing you've well outside the church.
